Frequently Asked Questions

Are you registered in every city you work in as required by local ordinance?

Yes. Many contractors avoid registering to save money. But if a contractor is going to avoid doing what is required by law, imagine what they might do to cut corners on your project to same money even if it jeopardizes the quality of your project.

How do you verify the eligibility of your crews to work in the U.S.?

We are proud to say that we use E-Verify to determine the eligibility of our crews to work in the United States. E-Verify is an Internet-based system that allows an employer, using information reported on an employee’s Form I-9, to determine the eligibility of that employee to work in the United States. For most employers, the use of E-Verify is voluntary and limited to determining the employment eligibility of new hires only. There is no charge to employers to use E-Verify. The E-Verify system is operated by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in partnership with the Social Security Administration. We fully support this initiative by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in partnership with the Social Security Administration. If a contractor doesn’t use E-Verify it could mean that they are picking up workers wherever they can even if they are undocumented.

Can I get an estimate over the phone or via e-mail?

Companies that will give you a quote over the phone without meeting you or visiting your property should be avoided. This is very unprofessional. We do not give estimates over the phone. There are too many variables to simply give an accurate quote. We will meet you in person, ask you specific questions to gain a full understanding of your painting or remodeling needs and then provide you with a written detailed estimate including our detailed preparation and installation procedure for a typical home. We provide each homeowner we meet with our written processes and this allows them to easily understand the cost of painting or remodeling their home and compare our proposal with another proposal.

Will your insurance agent provide me with a copy of your Certificate of Insurance?

Is it really necessary to check references?

Yes. Quality painting or remodeling contractors have multiple references from past clients. We believe that a contractor should provide you with a list of at least 25 references – this prevents the contractor from giving you 3 or 4 “references” that are actually not real customer but friends or associates. V.I.P. Services Inc. provides a list of 25 references you can call and ask about our price guarantee. If a contractor is unable or unwilling to provide at least 25 references that should be a warning sign.

Do you provide a discount for multiple properties?

Yes. We will offer you a discount if you hire us to paint multiple properties at the same time. The amount of the discount will be dependent on how close together the projects are and how similar the projects are to each other.
